 This is intended to be a three series workshop with participants taking all three classes.

 Home Canning Made Easy:  

Thursday, August 22nd –6:00-9:00 p.m.

Home canning your fresh garden produce is an enjoyable and highly satisfying experience. Whether you are an experienced or novice home canner, an understanding of how the process works is essential for safety and quality results. Learn the basics of home canning, why it is important to follow up-to-date and tested guidelines and recipes from reliable sources. 

Hands-On Pressure Canning

Thursday, August 29th—6:00-9:00 p.m.

Learn why low-acid foods must be canned in a pressure canner.  Learn how to identify low-acid foods and learn safe up-to-date procedures for using and caring for your pressure canner.  Participants will be given the opportunity to pressure can low-acid products during this class.

 Freezing: 

Thursday, September 5th—6:00-9:00 p.m.

Freezing is a great way to extend your summer and fall harvest. Learn how to keep the highest nutrition and quality of frozen food through blanching, correct storage containers and what can and can’t be frozen.

COST for three series workshop: $35.00, scholarships available upon request

    Hi Meggan! I really enjoyed reading of your vacation Bible school experience. Dennis would loved to take advantage of your gardening workshops; last summer he wanted a pressure cooker for his birthday and has enjoyed using it. Our garden is producing good things and we are enjoying Iowa heat and humidity. Tomorrow is to be 82–a cool down. Hope your trip back to South Dakota was great.
